Volvo S60 Launched In Australia 2011

It’s About Volvo has unveiled 2011 Volvo S60 for Australia market with pricing for all sedan variants and can see on all car dealer of VolVo. The all-new Volvo S60 is “The most dynamic, most emotionally involving car we’ve ever manufactured, a striking sports sedan that shows Volvo’s passion for cars. Yet it is very much a true Volvo.” said Alan Desselss, Volvo Car Australia Managing Director.

For the sytling Volvo S60 be include a rabbit out of its hat with its new styling direction. While maintaining the brand’s signature styling elements, it is now pushing into fresh teritory with unique fluid designs unlike anything it has offered before. The new S60 is not only a radical departure from the outgoing model, but it also – along with the XC60 and updated C30 – offers an indication of the Swedish manufacturer’s future design direction.

Volvo Cars’ Design Director Peter Horbury said “Every single line in its design is there to transport you both physically and emotionally,” and also said “Its profile radiates so much coupe feeling that the rear doors come as something of a pleasant surprise when you examine the car close-up.”

Volvo S60 with a four-dour coupe look be has features a C-pillar that reaches right to the tail-lights and a belt line that climbs and terminates in a high rear deck. And also flowing character line that runs along the profile of the S60 is described as a ‘double wave’, designed to give the car a lower, stronger stance.

Mr Horbury said “I call the design of the S60 a great evolutionary step. If you look back at the previous generation S60 (which was launched in Australia in 2000), the lineage is clear: the rounded nose, the fastback rear, and the sporty proportions,” and also “That S60, and the S80 that went before, began the current Volvo styling direction, which took classic Volvo cues but made them more modern.”

For interior Volvo S60 has more extrovert attitude than before without losing any of its practical Scandinavian roots and brings up to a whole new level when it comes to the integral experience of colour, form, material and technology. Despite the four-door coupe styling, the new S60 is very much a genuine five-seater. Knee space in the rear seat has increased by 30mm, the rear seat splits 40/60 and the boot opening has been made 107mm wider than in the previous-generation S60. The S60 offers 380 litres of storage space in the rear.

The new S60 will feature the City Safety system as standard equipment. With City Safety, the car automatically brakes if the driver fails to react in time when the vehicle in front slows down or stops, or if he or she is driving too fast towards a stationary object. The system can lessen or even entirely avoid low-speed rear-end impacts at speeds up to 30 kilometres an hour.

S60 Performance - 8.4 (Very Good)

With a standard 300-horsepower engine and a well sorted suspension, the 2011 Volvo S60 certainly achieves its goal of being the sportiest Volvo available. However, reviewers agree that there are sportier options in the class.

S60 Exterior - 9.5 (Excellent)

The press likes how the new S60 looks. It blends the look of modern Volvos with the “four-door coupe” design philosophy that many European automakers are using.
S60 Interior - 8.7 (Very Good)

Hailing from the same country that gives us IKEA, Volvos are known for their stylish interiors. The interior is filled with quality materials and looks stunning, but reviewers have their gripes about the excess use of hard buttons.

S60 Safety - NA

Neither the federal government nor the insurance industry have crash tested the 2011 Volvo S60. However, safety technology on the S60 goes beyond what the competition offers.

S60 Reliability - NA

The 2011 Volvo S60 comes with a five-year/60,000-mile
